Milan Bandić, Honorary Chairman

Since I was elected the honorary president of Dinamo, I have always pointing out this is an honor and duty that only a madman could refuse. So how could I, who has been Dinamo’s fan since the earliest days of my childhood. I have spent years on the east stand and later on the west stand. To be completely honest, it has been quite difficult for me to accept the place in V.I.P. suit despite my official position or better so say positions. Dinamo has been and will always be one of the landmarks of Zagreb’s and Croatian sport, the icon, or in modern terminology the brand of this city and country. This is the basic of my role as a honorary Chairman of the Club. I am equally interested in this club as the Mayor of this city, and as such I will do as much as I could or as much as Dinamo deserves. All the financial support that the club has received so far is in accordance with the current regulations and so will be in future. The amount of support defends on the results in home competitions as well as the international ones. My request considering the functioning of the club has been announced publicly. The club should change its conception in order to improve its own capacities from kids to juniors and thus create a high quality product for entering European market. I have publicly approved of some of transfers (like Eduardo, Etto). They have contributed to the success of the club. However there will not be any considerable support of the city without persistence and hard work in the leadership of the club, all of would make the club achieve better results. I am not impatient and I do not normally criticize and I know that there won’t be any overnight success. But I do hope that Dinamo would become the part of European football League and thus truly become modern European Club.
